28 undergraduate students from the Department of Linguistics and African Languages, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. No grants. No lab. Just fieldwork, community trust, and the will to document what others overlooked.
Almost everyone here had a late night at some point — or several. Transcribing recordings, translating words, annotating data, attending meetings, trainings and workshops, building the dictionary, the flashcards, the storybooks. The work was quiet, unglamorous, and done anyway.
